Prepare to Sell

Prepare to Sell is a guided, three-step workflow that walks you from setup to your first sale. Each step shows status cards that complete themselves automatically as you do the work, and later steps unlock as you make progress.

Prepare to Sell

Overview

The page has a step navigator on the left and a card panel on the right. A step shows a Done / Pending badge on each card, and the navigator marks each step complete, current, or locked. On load it jumps you to the first step that still has work. Use Previous / Next (or click a step) to move around. A step unlocks once the previous step has at least one completed card — Step 1 is always unlocked.

Steps in detail

Step 1 — Onboarding Setup

  • Store Profile Setup → opens Onboarding. It auto-completes once your organization has an active location and an active tax profile.
  • For team members who aren't the owner, this step is already Completed (the owner sets it up), and the card can't be started.

Step 2 — Inventory & Services

Unlocks after Step 1 has a completed card.

Step 3 — Start Selling & Servicing

Unlocks after Step 2 has a completed card.

  • Create Your First SaleSales → New. Completes once you have at least one order. Enabled once your profile is complete and you have inventory or services.
  • Schedule ServicesSchedule. An optional / bonus card — it does not block the step from completing (useful for service businesses; product-only shops can skip it). Enabled once your profile is complete and a service exists.
  • Order ManagementOrders. Completes once you have at least one order.

Step by step: go live

  1. Step 1 — click Start on Store Profile Setup and finish Onboarding.
  2. Step 2 — add products via Inventory Setup and/or a service via Services Setup.
  3. Step 3 — click Create Your First Sale to ring up your first order.

Tips & best practices

  • You don't have to do everything — a product-only business completes Step 3 with a single sale; the Schedule Services card is a bonus.
  • Cards update on their own; revisit this page anytime to see what's left.
  • A locked step means the previous step has no completed card yet — finish one card there to unlock it.
