Onboarding
Onboarding is a three-step wizard — Business Type, Owner & Organization, and Location & Tax — that sets up (or edits) your business and finishes with a summary screen.
Overview
Step navigation is on the left, an illustration in the center, and the form on the right. Picking a Business Type pre-fills defaults; the summary confirms everything before you finish. Returning later opens in edit mode with your saved values.
Steps in detail
Step 1 — Business Type
- Choose an industry: Appliance Store, Furniture Store, Liquidation Store, Electronics Store, Clothing Store, HVAC Services, Plumbing Services, Appliance Repair (or an API-loaded profile).
- A preview shows included Core Features and what's tailored for that industry (Partner Network templates, Local Vibes search terms, and a default tax rate).
Step 2 — Owner & Organization
- Owner: First Name, Last Name, Mobile Phone (10-digit), Currency (USD/EUR/GBP/CAD), Time Zone (ET/CT/MT/PT/UTC).
- Organization: Business Name.
Step 3 — Location & Tax
- Location: Name, Location Type (Store / Warehouse / Office / Distribution Center / Service Center), Location Phone (shown on invoices), Street Address (Google-verified → City/State/ZIP lock in), Country.
- Operating hours: pre-filled Mon–Fri 09:00–17:00 (Sun closed); edit open/close or mark a day closed.
- Tax: Tax Profile Name (default "Default Sales Tax") and Tax Rate % (pre-filled from the industry).
- Submit Setup → a Summary screen recaps all three steps with Edit Setup / Get Started Now.
Step by step: complete onboarding
- Step 1 — choose your Business Type; Next.
- Step 2 — enter owner details, currency, time zone, and organization name; Next.
- Step 3 — set the location (verify the address), hours, and tax rate.
- Submit Setup, review the summary, then Get Started Now.
Tips & best practices
- Tax rates auto-fill by industry but can be changed for your jurisdiction.
- Set operating hours once; they appear on your customer-facing profiles.
- Pick the closest Business Type even if not exact — fine-tune features later in Settings.
Troubleshooting
| Issue | Fix |

| "Please verify the location address" | Re-type the Street Address and pick the match from the Google dropdown |
| Address unverified after an edit | Click the field and re-select from autocomplete |
| Tax rate shows 0% | No industry preset matched; type your rate in Tax Rate % |
