Labels
Barcode & Label Management produces shelf and product labels in a guided 3-step flow: Item Selection, Label Configuration, and Preview & Print.

Overview
Pick the items to label, choose the format and which fields print, then preview a to-scale sheet and print or export.
Steps in detail
Step 1 — Item Selection
- Summary bar: available items, selected items, total barcodes to generate.
- Filters: Location, Category, Item Type (All / Bulk / Trackable), Search (name/SKU/serial).
- Paginated table (10/page) with checkboxes; Select All Filtered / Clear All.
Step 2 — Label Configuration
- Label format: Avery 5160, 5163, 5267, 8163, 5162, 5164, Jewelry Tags, Clothing Tags, or Custom — each shows labels-per-sheet, dimensions, and a recommendation.
- Field toggles (what prints): Product Name, Model, Barcode, Serial Number & its barcode, SKU & its barcode, Price/MSRP, Category, Location, Brand, Size, Description, Notes, Discount.
- Content fit check: warns if too much content for the chosen label and suggests fields to remove; live preview with a safe-print margin.
Step 3 — Preview & Print
- To-scale sheet preview (first sheet) with grid/alignment overlay and a safe-print guide.
- Print Now (opens the browser print dialog with rendered barcodes), Export (JSON), or Download (PDF where available).
- Blocks printing if content exceeds the safe print zone (with a jump back to Step 2).
Step by step: print labels
- Step 1 — filter and check the items to label.
- Step 2 — choose a format (Avery 5160 is recommended) and toggle fields.
- Step 3 — review the preview and click Print Now (or Export).
Tips & best practices
- Avery 5160 (30 per sheet, 1"×2.625") suits most inventory labels.
- If content is too big, remove lower-priority fields or pick a larger format.
- Always check the preview's margin guide before printing a full sheet.
Troubleshooting
| Issue | Fix |
|---|---|
| Barcodes won't scan | Verify the product barcode/SKU; test one label first |
| "Content exceeds safe print zone" | Go to Step 2 and remove fields or pick a larger label |
| Misaligned print | Adjust printer margins; use the safe-area guide to diagnose |
