Reviews Booster
Ask happy customers for public reviews and manage responses without leaving the workspace.
Overview
Reviews Booster connects to your Google Business Profile (GBP) so you can:
- Verify the connection status for your organization.
- Choose which business locations to manage.
- Monitor incoming reviews with rating, profile, and reviewer context.
- Reply to reviews directly from the dashboard.
- Launch a prefilled SMS campaign to request new reviews.
Prerequisites
- A Google Business integration completed by an org admin (
Connect Google Business). - Google has approved the GBP API project for review access (API quota is 0 until Google approves).
- Users must log in through the app so the feature can detect their organization.
If the integration is active but no profiles appear, reconnect to refresh tokens.
Connect Google Business
- Open
Growth → Reviews Booster. - If the feature can’t detect an active integration, click Connect Google Business. This opens the
/api/google-business/authflow and redirects back through the callback after OAuth. - The callback completes the connection and returns you to
/reviews.
If connection fails, confirm that the signed-in user belongs to the intended org and retry.
Select business profiles
When the integration is live but no profiles are cached, Reviews Booster fetches available GBP locations and prompts you to pick the ones you want to manage. You can:
- Select multiple locations (checkbox + card toggle) and save the selection.
- Reopen the selector later via Change Profiles.
The service caches selected profiles for future sessions. If you see “Business Location ####” labels, use Change Profiles to refresh the selection.
Monitor reviews
Once profiles are selected, the dashboard loads reviews for those locations using fetchReviews.
- Each review shows reviewer name, avatar (if available), rating, date, and which profile it belongs to.
- Use Refresh Reviews to pull updates from Google immediately.
- Pagination controls appear automatically when more than one page of reviews is returned.
Reply to reviews
- Reviews that already have a business reply display it in a blue callout.
- For reviews without a reply, type directly into the inline input and press Enter. The app sends the comment through
/api/google-business/replyand reloads the current page. - Errors (e.g., expired permissions or insufficient GBP access) surface inline so you can retry after reconnecting.
Request new reviews
Click Review Boost to open the SMS Campaign builder with the preset=review-request query parameter. This:
- Prefills the campaign name (“Google Review Request”) and SMS copy including the Google
writereviewlink. - Automatically swaps
PLACE_IDwith the selected business profile’s Place ID once detected. - Lets you adjust recipients, scheduling, and sender number before launching.
Troubleshooting
- “Could not get organization ID”: refresh the page or sign out and back in so the org ID reloads correctly.
- No profiles found / quota exceeded: Google may not have approved your GBP API project. Submit the GBP API access request form with the project ID shown in the error message and try again after approval.
- Deprecation or migration errors: The older Google My Business API may no longer respond for your account. Follow the migration links supplied in the error message to update your Google project.
- Cannot reply: Confirm the GBP account allows replies and reconnect if permissions were removed.
